ORDER OF WORSHIP
As you prepare your hearts
and your minds for worship, reflect on these words:
“Grateful hearts need no special reason to offer thanks to
God. Life abundant is itself reason for
praise. In the face of Love’s mysteries
given such bountiful expression what gifts have we?… Our hands, our strength,
our singing hearts. Let us worship
God.”

Call to Worship:
Leader: Good
morning!
People:
Good morning!
Leader: Out of the
fullness of the lives God has given us we have come to worship and to praise.
People:
With thanks we offer to God the creativity of our minds, the warmth of
our hearts, and the joy of our spirits.
Leader: We love
because God has first loved us, freeing us from the power of sin and death.
People:
With glad hearts let us join together in singing praise to God: Creator,
Word, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
Invocation (Unison)
God of the quiet places, God of the stormy seas, we gather
in your calming presence. Silence the
crashing waves of trouble in our hearts.
Let us hear your promise to us in Christ’s whispered, “Be still.” And in our stillness, let us know within our
whole selves that you and you alone are our God. Amen.
CONFESSION AND AFFIRMATION
Silent Meditation
Call to Confession
(Pastor)
“While God may be found, we will seek God; while God is
near, we will call;…let them return to the Lord; for they will find mercy and
abundant pardon from God.” Isaiah 55:6-7
Prayer of Confession (Unison)
Creator God, breathing your own
life into our being, you gave us the gift of life. You placed us on this earth, with its minerals and waters,
flowers and fruits, living creatures of grace and beauty! You gave us the care of the earth. Today you call us: “Where are you; what have
you done?” Forgive us, Creator God, and
reconcile us to your creation. Teach
us, O God of love, that the earth and all its fullness is yours, the world and
those who dwell in it. Call us yet
again to safeguard the gift of life. We
pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Assurance of Forgiveness
(Pastor)
Hear the good news!
Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has
begun. Friends, believe the
gospel. In Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Thanks be to God.
